1847 -

His body was drenched with blood and sweat as he ran further into the woods. The villagers had had him tied to a tree for hours. It was pure luck he escaped. If the man that had been chosen to watch him wasn’t as fearful as he was, Walter might not have been able to have taken over his mind and make the man release him.

Walter’s feet ached. He hadn’t been on them for hours. It was almost the break of dawn. The sun was going to rise, and if he didn’t find shelter soon, he would surely die from being revealed to its harsh rays. And if not from the sun, it would be the villagers’ stakes impaling his flesh. So he ran, and ran, and ran until he could run no more. His eyes were about to give out. Then, he saw a kid -- maybe a teenager, he wasn’t sure. Whoever he was, he was going to be Walter’s next meal, maybe his last ever meal.

The child, a boy with a short black fringe and freckles, was holding a stick in his hands and whilst being chased by a small dog with brown fur. He was laughing.

“Alby,” he screamed happily, still running in circles. “You’re going to have to try harder.”

The dog stopped and started running far away, deeper into the woods, leaving Walter and the child alone.

“Alby,” the child said, concern building up in his voice, “Alby, where are you?”

The child seemed vulnerable. Maybe Walter could take control of his mind.

Yes, child. Come closer to me.

With a perplexed look on his face, the boy strolled towards the vampire.

Yes, boy, yes. Just a little closer.

When they were only a couple of steps away from each other, Walter lunged, using the strength he had left to hold the boy down and pierce his neck.

This is something that I was working on. I don't think I'm going to continue it. You can continue it by commenting down below.
